Privacy Policy
Last updated 29 October 2026
StudyDeck is a free study tool made by students, for students. We keep data collection to the bare minimum. This page explains the account, study and technical data used to run StudyDeck.
StudyDeck is a student-run project. We are not affiliated with Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Erasmus School of Economics (ESE), or any textbook publisher or author.
What we store
If you create an account, we store:
- Your username and account status.
- Your password's salted hash and hashing settings. Your password is processed during registration and sign-in, but is not stored in plaintext.
- Your study progress - completed and flagged cards - plus your colour theme and records used to sync changes, tied to your account.
We also store session-token hashes and expiry times, and sign-in attempt counts and times. A hash of your IP address helps limit sign-in attempts. An essential cookie keeps you signed in for up to eight hours. Your browser stores signed-in progress and unsynced changes, which may remain after you sign out.
What we do not collect
- No email address is needed to register, and we do not ask for one.
- No real names, addresses, phone numbers, or student numbers.
- No tracking or analytics cookies.
- No advertising, and no ad trackers.
- No third-party trackers of any kind.
- We do not sell or rent your data. Our hosting provider hosts StudyDeck and processes account, progress and technical data to operate and secure the service.
Without an account, we do not save study progress or create a study profile for you.
Deleting your data
For account and progress deletion requests, email support@studydeck.co. We need reasonable proof that you control the account before acting on a request. Do not send your password by email. Clear StudyDeck's site data to remove copies stored in your browser.
Security
Passwords are stored only as salted hashes. No system is perfect, so please do not reuse a password here that you use for important accounts.
